2026 IATBA Championships: Schedule, Weigh-In Times, and Walkovers Announced

The draw has been completed, and preparations have been finalized for two massive weekends of boxing at the National Boxing Stadium Complex.

A packed schedule of highly competitive bouts has been lined up across the men’s and women’s divisions. The breakdown for the upcoming days, along with strict weigh-in requirements and walkover information, should be reviewed carefully below so that exact times and obligations are known by all competitors and coaches.

Uncontested Weights (Walkovers)

A list of uncontested weights has been published (see the attached IATBA 2026 WALKOVERS list below).

  • A choice is given to boxers regarding whether or not titles by walkover are accepted.
  • If it is chosen not to accept the title, the same category can be contested next year by the boxer (provided they remain eligible).
  • If the walkover is accepted, an obligation is placed on the boxer to progress to the next experience category for future IATBA events (i.e., Novice to Intermediate, or Intermediate to Senior).
  • Important: To officially claim a title, walkover champions must be weighed in on Finals Day (Saturday, 14th March).

Finals Day: Saturday, 14th March

Weigh-In Requirements

Strict rules will be enforced at the scales. The following requirements must be met by all competitors:

  • A valid student ID card must be presented at the weigh-in so that student status can be verified. (If a student ID cannot be presented, a letter from the college/university admissions office or equivalent will be accepted as proof of status). Please remember to take back your card after weighing in!
  • The boxing record book must also be presented on the very first day a boxer is weighed in.
  • No weight allowance is given for any weigh-ins. The declared weight must be made to compete.
  • Test Scale: A test scale will be operated in the first dressing room on the right upon entering the High Performance Gym. Weights must be tested on this scale by boxers before the main competition scales in the adjacent dressing room are used for official weigh-in.
  • Wristbands: Coloured wristbands will be distributed to boxers and coaches at each weigh-in so that spectator admission fees are not charged upon entering the venue.
  • Novice Categories: Boxers are weighed in on their first day of boxing and again on the day of their final (March 14th).
  • Other Categories (Youths/Intermediates/Seniors): Boxers must be weighed in each morning before they compete.
  • Weigh-ins are not required on non-competition days (except for champions winning by walkover, who must weigh in on March 14th).

Boxer Withdrawals

If it is found that a boxer is unable to compete for any reason, the IATBA must be informed as soon as possible by emailing iatba.2010@gmail.com. Out of respect for opponents, it is requested that this notification is not left until the morning the bout is due to be fought.
