Information Regarding Weigh-ins

In case there is any confusion about when a boxer has to weigh-in please read the scenarios below. We have been receiving some questions about it.

If boxer John Doe is boxing on Saturday, he must weigh in on Saturday morning between 8am and 9.30am. If he wins his bout and is boxing again on Sunday, he has two possible situations.

1. If he is in the Junior Novice or Senior Novice category, he does not weigh-in again on Sunday. He only has to weigh-in for his final on Saturday 16th, if he wins his contests until then.

2. If John is in any category other than Novice, he must weigh-in each day he boxes.

If Mary Doe is entered in the Championships and is drawn to box her first contest on Sunday, 10th March, she must weigh-in that day.

3. She is not required to weigh-in the previous day. Boxers weigh in only on the day they box. The same rules apply to Mary. If she is Novice, she weighs in on her first day and on finals day. If she is in any other category, she weighs in each day she boxes.

The pre-draw allows boxers and coaches to know exactly what days they’re boxing and they can plan work and travel itinerary around that. We will not require a boxer to weigh-in on a day they are not competing (apart from champions by walkover claiming their titles on 16 March!).
